Azriel raised her head. She'd gotten mostly used to this world, especially her dogs; once she'd found a way back to Ente Isla, she'd definitely take them along. Could that day have come sooner than expected?
There was a sudden burst of magic. Still a bit away, but she would probably feel that anywhere. Without caring about the humans around her, she turned and ran towards that energy; maybe if she was quick enough, she would be able to find a way back.
But when she arrived, it was gone. An annoyed growl escaped her throat, causing the biggest of her dogs to lick her hand in an attempt to comfort her. Somewhat absent-mindedly, she patted the dog's head and sighed. She'd been too late, but if it happened once already, maybe it would happen again.

And it should. It took a while, and Azriel spent most of that time with her normal day-to-day life, until there was another magical surge, far stronger than the last one. It was closer, too.
Azriel raised her head and howled. Not quite as well as she would in her Werewolf shape, but far more wolfen than any human should be able to howl. The people around her gave her pretty bewildered looks, but she didn't care; even from here, she could feel the energy coursing through her. How much better would it be once she actually got to the source?
Her dogs just followed her when she started running. The energy became stronger and stronger, until Azriel finally reached its source: A bunch of panicked humans, Lucifer hovering quite far above ground, and Maou supporting a bridge to stop it from crushing two human girls - And wait, was one of the girls the Hero?

"Get away from there!", Maou told the girls, but they didn't move. Well, Azriel couldn't just let them defy her Lord now.
With this much magic in the air, it was easy to assume her werewolf shape. She'd let her dogs leads go; they'd do as she told them, at least in a situation like this. She ran up to the girls, grabbed one by the arm and the hero by her hair and dragged them a bit away from the bridge, where she just dropped them before running to her Lord's side. By the time she reached Maou and knelt beside him, she'd changed from human all the way to her wolfgirl shape.
"May I hunt beside you again, my Lord?", she asked, a grin showing her sharp fangs.
"Azriel. I thought I recognized that howl", he said, glancing towards her. "You know what to do."
Azriel could easily smell lots of blood, mostly on Maou. Some was his, but much of it also belonged to Alciel - Where was he, though? And traces of Lucifer's scent, to it was fairly obvious who the one at fault was. And, thus, her new prey.
While the Hero was still busy talking, Azriel jumped high. Lucifer was still close enough to the ground for her to reach him, and that allowed her to lock her jaws around one of his wings and throw him towards one of the nearby buildings.
Of course that made him learn, and he raised higher. Fine. There was still so much magic in the air, Azriel could simply grow herself a pair of wings, black feathers chased with red. By now, Emilia was done talking, too, and not long after Alciel joined them. Lucifer didn't stand a chance against all of them together, and was soon punched out by Maou.

It was... Strange too see her Lord and her General in human form. As for herself, she'd assumed it a few times before, even though she didn't like being locked in it, but those two? But at least now she knew where they were, and they were apparently also trying to find a way back. At least Azriel wasn't alone anymore.

The Devil is a Part-Timer Empty Re: The Devil is a Part-Timer

Auriel sighed. A bunch of kids ran through the library again, laughing loudly and accidently throwing some books on the ground as they made their way to the back of the building. Mumbling to herself she picked up the books and put them where they belonged before she followed the group and angrily gave them a little speech about houserules and respect. However, the children just rolled with their eyes and started chatting excitedly while looking for their favourite books. The angel just shook her head and got back to work when one of her coworkers approached. She was a nice old lady who had decided to look after the girl and help her out whenever she needed help with anything.
"You can go home, I'll manage to take care of everyting. There's not much Happening today. You should go out and have some fun, a nice young lady like you", the old woman said smiling warmly, but Auriel shook her head. "Don't worry, I don't really wanna go out anyway. I'd rather stay and continue working with you", she replied, but Karen disagreed. "Aurora, didn't you tell me you don't even have a boyfriend? You really should take your time enjoying your life, find a nice young guy to spend it with."
"Oh, trust me, I don't need one", Auriel answered a bit more harsh than she intended to. "Boys are all idiots." She knew Karen only meant well, but if she was truly honest with herself, she still wasn't completely over her old crush and how were chances she would ever see him again? Not to Mention she had no idea how she'd react if she actually would see him again.
Karen just shook her head still smiling before turning around to leave. "Have it your way. But your shift ends in an hour, I don't wanna see you here anymore by then."
"Yeah, yeah", Auriel replied while trying to focus on sorting the books. Memories of her past, her time in heaven, wandered through her mind, but she just sighed and tried pushing them aside. Maybe Karen was right. Maybe she should go out, find some distraction. If she just kept on clinging to her angel life, she'd never be able to truly start over, live a normal human life.

Half an hour later Auriel walked out of the building, waving goodbye to her older co-worker smiling. She intended to walk home to her Little Apartment when she heard people shouting and screaming in fear before suddenly everyone around her fell asleep. Confused she blinked a few times before taking in her surroundings in search for the source. Magic his strong meant that either a demon or an angel was near, maybe even more than one. Once Auriel thought she had figured out the direction she started Walking, but soon after stopped. If someone really was near, did she really want to go there? Demons probably meant she'd have to fight them as most of them weren't acting quite friendly towards angels. If she met an angel and he or she recognized her, she'd probably have to run or fight as well. Maybe helping her mother hasn't been her best decision. But she'd do it again. With most of the angels she didn't really get along that well anyway.
However, running into someone from Ente Isla didn't seem like a good idea at the moment, so the angel just sighed and turned around, heading for her apartment.

The Devil is a Part-Timer Empty Re: The Devil is a Part-Timer

Beitrag  Pantherpfote Mi 26 Dez 2018, 17:41

The dogs had surrounded Lucifer, baring their teeth and sometimes growling when he moved. Not that the angel wanted to escape, after that punch, but just in case.
Azriel would have loved to keep her werewolf form, but the magic was fading quickly, and she wanted to preserve as much as she could. Maou was already using a lot to restore the city, but he didn't order her to help, so she just let him use up as much of his energy as he wanted. She'd keep hers in case of an emergency.
Afterwards, the others caught her up to speed. So her Lord was working at MgRonald's, and her general was basically a housewife. Not exactly the development she'd have expected, but she also hadn't expected to end up as a small-name model with three dogs, either. Oh well. At least she had Maou and Alciel back; and they were also looking for ways to get back to Ente Isla. And, according to Lucifer, the easiest way to get more magic was bad human emotions; that was good to know.

A day or two later, Azriel was walking her dogs after work. A small modelling job, for some new swimsuits and bikinis; nothing special, but it brought her some money.
After Lucifer's info, she decided to take a round past one of the local high-schools. Not the strongest emotions, but it gave a bit of magic, enough for small changes if she felt like it, not to mention that Azriel just felt better with even small amounts of magical energy compared to none.
She'd tried that round once before, but this time, something was different. The dogs noticed first - Azriel's own senses were woefully dull in this form. "What is it?"
Sayu growled softly, while Aya quietly whined. They weren't sure, either, but something reminded them of Lucifer, just less demonic; now that she had met the others, Azriel used that to teach her pack how to tell humans, demons and angels apart. What, now an actual angel had come here, too?
"Show me", she told the dogs, and their change in demeanor was immediate. They were suddenly far more focused, all three of them leading her into the same direction, instead of sniffing here and there.
Not far away, Azriel noticed a tiny person, even smaller than Lucifer, and the dogs were pretty focused on her. "This girl?", she asked her pack, walking around the girl once. It would've looked pretty weird to a human, but Azriel didn't care too much about that; with her height, her incredibly long her and especially the red eyes, she was standing out anyway. Even before she'd reached the girl, Azriel used some magic to heighten her sense of smell, and yeah, the dogs were right, that was definitely an angel. Honestly, if she'd had to choose, Azriel preferred Lucifer's scent; he still smelled like angel, but at least not as obnoxiously holy.
Once she finished her round, Azriel let her sense fade again. She knew what she wanted to find out, and luckily, there were barely any humans around. "So, what's a tiny angel doing in this place, all alone?", she asked, a slightly unsettling grin on her lips. The dogs had followed their leader and were now standing next to her, focused on the angel as well. Sayu war baring her fangs, while Aya just sat next to the smaller dog. Lux was standing on Azriel's other side, tail swaying gently from side to side, but even so, he probably looked more threatening than the tiny mutt.

The Devil is a Part-Timer Empty Re: The Devil is a Part-Timer

Beitrag  Silberstern Mi 26 Dez 2018, 23:41

When Auriel arrived in her apartment, the appearance of magic was still quite present in her mind. Without really paying attention, she turned on her TV and sat on the Couch while thinking about whether to tell her mother what she just had witnessed. She decided to better not say anything as long as she didn't know any details when the report on TV caught her attention. It was about a destroyed bridge near the library the angel was working at, but what truly surprised her were the photos of the people responsible. If she had been drinking water Right now, she probably would've spit it out, but all she could do was watching with a slightly opened mouth. "What the hell?!", she said, but of course there was no response. Part of her wanted to storm out and right back to this bridge, but even if she did, Lucifer would probably be long gone by now. So instead the little angel decided to remain calm and out of sight for now and instead visit the Bridge another time. It was very unlikely but maybe, just maybe, she'd find any traces that would lead her to her long gone friend.

The next day she walked to her working place deep in thought, when suddenly a voice caught her attention. Remaining calm she took in the appearance of the girl and her dogs who just called her angel. By the Looks she just seemed like a rather ordinary Girl, except for the red eyes of Course. But since she knew about Auriels true nature that meant she was probably from Ente Isla too. Since humans usually didn't have red eyes there were only the options angel and demon, though judging by the behaviour Auriel believed the girl to be a demon.
"Working", Auriel replied after a little while and tried not to put any emotion into the answer. "What brings a demon into this world? Thought you'd prefer to stay somewhere you can show your true nature", she then added, raising an eyebrow while crossing her arms.

The Devil is a Part-Timer Empty Re: The Devil is a Part-Timer

Beitrag  Pantherpfote Do 27 Dez 2018, 00:06

The little angel didn't back off or even flinch. Seemed like she had some fighting spirit, something Azriel could appreciate. "Wish I knew, it was one of yours who threw me here", she replied, shrugging. Truth be told, Azriel didn't remember whether it had been an angel or a human who had gotten her here - If she had ever known, that was. She had been fighting, so there had probably been nothing on her mind except for actions back then.
Azriel took a bit of time to look the girl over. Tiny, but confident. She would've probably made a fine opponent back on Ente Isla, though it was hard to say how it would be here. Azriel still had quite a bit of magic left from the day before, but she had no idea how angels got theirs, so there was no telling how much the other girl could use. "And what are you working on?" There was no way the demon would back off that easily, though. If the angel was too secretive and wanted to fight, so be it - Honestly, Azriel would probably enjoy it regardless of how strong she was - but right now, she was mostly just curious. And, perhaps even more importantly, any angel around might pose a potential danger to her Lord and her General, so she couldn't just leave her be. So, while Azriel's grin wasn't quite as unsettling anymore, she still kept her focus on the angel, though it was now a bit more similar to eyeing a challenger to her rank rather than a predator eyeing its prey.

The Devil is a Part-Timer Empty Re: The Devil is a Part-Timer

Beitrag  Silberstern Do 27 Dez 2018, 10:11

Auriel shortly raised an eyebrow at the demons reply, but didn't say anything. It was rather unusual though that someone from Ente Isla made their way to Earth and so far the angel only knew about her mother actually living here. Judging by the reaction of that Girl though, she didn't made her way here on free will and it kinda seemed like she was trapped here. Which wouldn't be surprising since this place didn't really contain much magic a demon could use. So if she would be attacked, Auriel should be able to win easily, which was kinda reassuring right now. Not that she would be the first one to attack, but most demons weren't exactly friendly towards angels.
"Just helping out in a library, a girl's gotta live off something, right? You should know", she replied after a while, trying to sound less cold. At least so far that demon girl didn't make any tries to attack her, so maybe she could actually have a normal conversation. Maybe, just maybe, that girl even could tell her something about Lucifer, after all he joined the demon lord quite some time ago. To be honest, Auriel was still quite pissed at him, but the curiousity About why he left and why he didn't tell her was stronger, after all this years her anger had faded at least a little bit. "You seem to be living here for a while now, are there any other angels or demons you met?", the angel added and tried not to show too much interest with what she succeeded more or less. She wasn't qute sure though whether that girl would actually reply with the truth, after all if there were any other demons here, she'd probably try to protect them. And even though there were some demon traits Auriel never really liked, she kind of envied the loyalty some demons showed towards their Lord and companions.

The Devil is a Part-Timer Empty Re: The Devil is a Part-Timer

Beitrag  Pantherpfote Do 27 Dez 2018, 11:44

"So, you just decided you had enough of all that heavenly stuff and would rather move to a world with far too little magic to work in a library?" Azriel sounded like she was almost laughing; it really did not sound like it could be that easy.
For the girl's next question, she just shrugged. "Nah, only humans." Part of Azriel was thinking back about all the time a human hadn't wanted to answer her, and instead said stuff like "If there was, I wouldn't tell you" or "Who wants to know?". As if those weren't surefire indicators of what the right answer would be. Then again, maybe humans or angels actually were fooled by those things, but Azriel doubted even the most holy of them could be that naive.
Sayu started snarling instead of just baring her teeth, while Aya stood up and Lux's tail stopped wagging. Azriel was a pretty good liar - She had to be to blend in with human folks back on Ente Isla, after all - but her pack was even better at noticing even the subtlest shifts in her body language or smell, and this angel asking about other demons was definitely a potential threat.
The bigger dogs, especially Lux, would wait for a command from Azriel, even it was a subtle one, but Sayu wasn't as patient. She started taking a step towards the angel, fur standing on edge, and the other two would probably have followed suit not too long after. But Azriel was... Well, she was always looking for a fight, but she had already decided this was not the right situation, sadly. So the moment the little dog moved, she softly growled at her. Sayu seemed almost disappointed, but she went quiet and stepped back, not even baring her teeth anymore as she sat down next to Aya.
The moment she did, the other two also calmed down. Aya sat down as well, while Lux tried nuzzling his pack leader's hand and got some gentle pats in response. "Well, and a couple of dogs who aren't too fond of angels' smell", Azriel noted, keeping her eyes on Sayu just a moment longer before she focus on the girl again.

For a Moment Auriel thought About replying to that, but then decided to Keep her mouth shut About her magic. No need telling a potential enemy about her strength. Especially after her dogs seemed rather aggressive right now.
"Well then...I'm sure you never heard about a demon named Lucifer either, I guess?", she continued asking, though she was Pretty sure About what the answer would be. Not that she wouldn't understand this behaviour, she'd probably do the same when she met a stranger from Ente Isla, but she kinda had hoped she could get out at least something about the former angel of this demon. After all it was strange to see a picture of him on Tv in a place with so little magic for a demon. Especially since every idiot would know to not draw attention to themselves in a foreign world. On the other hand, she was talking about Lucifer here, there were quite some decisions he made she never understood.

The Devil is a Part-Timer Empty Re: The Devil is a Part-Timer

Beitrag  Pantherpfote Do 27 Dez 2018, 12:36

"I've been stuck here for a while, but I haven't been living under a rock during the war", Azriel answered. "Pretty sure most demons know the names of Maou's generals. Never had much to do with him though, I wasn't part of his army." She shrugged. "Met him once or twice, maybe. Best smelling angel I've come across."
Then, a grin spread on her face again. The angel was kind of entertaining, even if she had to be a bit careful, so why not try her out a bit more? Almost gently, Azriel laid her hand on the angel's shoulder. "But", she started, walking around her again; for an onlooker, it would end up looking like she just had her arm around the small angel. In truth, however, Azriel's nails were touching the angel's neck, slowly getting a little bit longer and sharper - Not enough to break the skin, just enough to shoe her that she could if she wanted to. "Maybe you should learn to be careful with your questions, little one", Azriel whispered in the angel's ear. "If anyone else ends up stranded here, they might not be this nice to a nosy angel."
Azriel stayed like that a little longer, her teeth - even though her mouth wasn't currently in the shape or a wolf's muzzle - probably a bit too close to the angel's throat for comfort, before she lightly giggled and let go of the girl, stepping back between her dogs. They'd been focused on her, probably ready to jump in at the slightest order or attack from the angel, but as long as neither of that happened, they'd stay where they were.

Auriel narrowed her eyes a bit when she felt the nails on her neck, but other than that remained calm. "Don't worry, I'll be fine", she replied coldly, adding a little smile that never reached her eyes. "Did no one ever teach you not to judge someone just by the looks?"
For a second the little angel thought about giving this demon a message for Lucifer, after all he was around, so chances were those two have met or would meet soon, but there was nothing coming to her mind that didn't sound like she wanted to kill him.
"However, I'm actually already late for work, so gotta go. Enjoy your human life, doggy demon", Auriel quickly waved goodbye before turning around to make her way to the library. She was sure Karen wouldn't mind her being late, but she didn't want to leave the old lady alone with all the work longer than she had to.

The Devil is a Part-Timer Empty Re: The Devil is a Part-Timer

Beitrag  Pantherpfote Do 27 Dez 2018, 18:06

The angel reminded Azriel of Sayu, she had enough confidence, at least. "Oh, don't worry, I don't", she answered, still grinning. "But maybe you should listen to your own advice."
"You too, little angel", the demon replied. "If you end up finding some more demons, send them to me, only humans are getting kind of boring over time." She raised her hand once to say goodbye, then turned away. She could've immediately gone to Maou's stronghold, but that would be more than just a little conspicuous, and she had no plans to lead the angel to her Lord and General, especially not since she seemed to have some special interest in Lucifer. Maybe she wanted to take him back to heaven?
So insterad, Azriel first finished her round and went back to her own apartment to feed the dogs. Lux seemed a bit disappointed - He hadn't gotten any pets from that new stranger! - but otherwise, they were like always.

Azriel waited a few hours before she put her little pack back on a leash to go over to the stronghold. She could have left them home, of course, but she refused. The dogs even accompanied her to many of her model jobs, she wouldn't leave them behind to see her Lord and her General, either.
But the only one home at that moment was a certain fallen angel. "Oi, Lucifer." Azriel didn't even knock, she just walked in and kicked her shoes off.
"Huh?" Lucifer was halfway turning around, away from the computer, when Lux already jumped him. Azriel had no idea why, but the huge dog had taken a strong liking to him, which was kind of problematic, considering Lux was about twice Lucifer's weight. "!!!"
"Where are Al- Ashiya and Maou?" Azriel didn't even think about helping him. Aya politely lay down near the table, while Sayu was sitting focused on her surroundings, ready to jump.
"Out! Get him off!" The fallen angel was trapped under the dog who was very busy licking his face, tail wagging happily.
"When are they gonna come back?"

Auriel didn't bother answering and instead just kept on walking. She took a quick look at her phone, judging by the time she might even be able to make it in time.
A while later she pushed open the door to the library where she was warmheartedly greeted by Karen, like always. The angel didn't even know why she was that kind, but it was nice to have someone who cared for her in this world and she definetely would never complain. After receiving the welcome hug and smile, she put her bag aside and started sorting the books while she was thinking about the demon she just met. Her behaviour had been slightly suspicious, especially with her threat that she shouldn't ask that many questions. It was very likely she was hiding something, she probably even had met Lucifer, after all she lived in this area too. And since demons shared the same source of magic she probably would've noticed a sudden boost of said magic. But her dogs were a problem, they definetely would notice if Auriel tried to follow that demon around. So she had to find another way to learn what this demon knew and especially with who she met.

When her shift was over a few hours later, the angel still was deep in thought and barely even noticed the goodbye wave and smile of Karen while leaving the bulding to head home. The old lady didn't mind though, she already was kinda used to the white-haired girl not noticing what happened right next to her.

"I don't kno-- Argh, get the dog OFF!" Lucifer was still struggling with Lux.
Azriel sighed and just gave her dog a look, who obediently stepped back and let the fallen angel at least sit up before putting his huge head in the boy's lap. "Dammit." Lucifer seemed kind of puzzled, but Azriel took the time to stretch and sit down cross legged before explaining. "There's some angel nearby. Tiny girl, long white hair, pretty confident. Figured you guys should know."
Lucifer instantly forgot the dog - until now, he had been trying to push it away, without much success - and looked at Azriel. "Wait, how did you describe her?"
The demon raised her head, too. "Sounds like someone you know? She's a bit smaller than you, I'm pretty sure she didn't fall, smelled far too holy for that. Hair was almost my length, blue eyes."
Lucifer put his face in the palm of his hand and sighed. "Haah, that might be Auriel." But pretty soon, he raised his head again. "Hey, did she mention me?"
"Asked if I knew you." Azriel started grinning. "So, I'm guessing you knew each other pretty well? What, didn't take your girlfriend along when you switched sides?"
Lucifer just looked back to his computer, after finally managing to shove Lux away. "Oh, shut up", he muttered, apparently deciding to ignore Azriel from now on.
The demon shrugged and laid down on the floor - Since there was no bed to lie on instead - and figured to try waiting for Alciel and Maou for at least a little bit.

Back in her apartment the angle just through her back into the next best corner and sat on the couch letting out a sigh. She hadn't come up with another plan than just to simply wait and hope for the best. It was a bit frustrating, but for today there was nothing she could do anyway. After all she had taken a job in some bar nearby to perform Tonight and had to get ready for that. And experience taught her that after this she probably would just fall into her bed.
Sighing again she got up and went into the bathroom to take a quick shower. When she was finished she quickly put on some prettier clothes and ate some snacks before picking up her bag and leaving. Unlike Karen the owner of the bar got angrily pretty fast when someone showed up late. But Auriel really could use some extra money and this was at least a rather easy job.

The Devil is a Part-Timer Empty Re: The Devil is a Part-Timer

Beitrag  Pantherpfote Do 27 Dez 2018, 20:17

A bit impatient, Azriel checked her watch. She didn't have an endless amount of time, after all, she had another modelling gig later tonight.
But at least Alciel finally came home. "Ah... Asuka, what are you doing here?" He didn't exactly look too thrilled about the dogs - he didn't want them to shed inside their stronghold - but he accepted that Azriel wouldn't normally go anywhere without them.
"Warning you, Ashiya." It felt strange calling him by that name, but he'd told her it would be better to do so, so she wouldn't misspeak in public. Azriel even raised herself into a kneeling position, looking up at her general. "There's another angel around. Tiny - smaller than Luci-- Urushihara - but I'd guess she is pretty strong, at least she has the confidence for it. And seems like Urushihara knows her pretty well." The last words brought a grin to Azriel's face again.
Alciel just nodded, listening intently. "How much does she know?"
"Not much. She asked me whether there were other demons or angels; I told her no. Afterwards she asked if I knew him", she gestured towards Lucifer, "but she didn't know his human name. She does know that I'm a demon, though."
"Understood, thank you."
If Azriel still had one, her tail would probably be wagging. Her dogs had also decided to obediently sit next to one another, probably sensing their leader's emotions. "I guess I can count on you to warn Maou, too?" At least he hadn't changed his name, or, well, at least not that one. "I need to get to work soon, so I can't wait for him."
"Of course." After that reply, Azriel got up. She didn't need to call her dogs to her, they knew they were supposed to follow.

The next gig was somewhere further downtown. At least Lux and Aya made a good deterrent, but some man still thought it was a good idea to catcall her; immediately after, a glare and a chorus of growls taught them better, and pretty much all of them ran off with their tail between their legs, much to Azriel's amusement. Tall and massive, but far more easily scared than that tiny angel girl she met in the afternoon.
This time, Azriel couldn't convince her employees to let her take her pack with her; they only allowed Sayu inside, since they could need a small dog for the photos. Better than nothing, at least. The demon pretended to tie the other two in front of the door, but the way she did it, both Aya and Lux could easily get free. They knew not to leave unless they had a very good reason, and if they did, they should at least have the option to do so. For now, though, the two big dogs just lay down to either side of the door, Aya looking at the people passing by, Lux more focused on Aya, ready to do as she told him.

The Devil is a Part-Timer Empty Re: The Devil is a Part-Timer

Beitrag  Silberstern Do 27 Dez 2018, 21:58

Arriving at the bar she just got a quick nod from her boss, before he hurried away to take care of some guests. Even though it wasn't that late yet, the building was flooded wth people chattering and laughing and drinking.
Auriel quickly went to her backstage room to put on at least a little bit of make-up since the owner told her too, even though she usually didn't wear any. When she was finished she took one last look at herself in the mirror before entering the stage. After exchanging a few words with the pianist on which songs they were going to play, she grabbed the microphone. When the soft melody of the first song began, the angel felt the calmness flooding through her veins. Since she was little she had always sang a song whenever the world around her just felt wrong, somehow a song would always make her feel way better.

It was already after midnight when Auriel finally left the bar and headed back home. She already had known it'd be that way but she actually already felt the tiredness taking over her body. Yawning she walked down the street, half asleep, not willing to keep thinking about a plan to find out more about the demon she had met today.

The shooting took quite a while, and it was already dark by the time they finished, which would probably mean more drunk guys thinking Azriel would be an easy lay. Oh well. They'd find out quickly enough why that would be a bad idea if they should try.
While Azriel didn't necessarily like her work - it was okay, but she'd rather be fighting, truth be told - there were some obvious upsides: Some of the other models were so easily jealous. Not all of them, of course, there were quite a few that Azriel got along well enough, but some others provided some excellent access to magic. It was only little bits, not much stronger than what she gained from walking past schools, but it was enough for day-to-day life.
The way back was pretty boring. Aya snapped at some man trying to get too close to Azriel, but only one dared going that far, the others kept their distance after some well-played glares and growls.

The next morning was free, which meant Azriel decided to spend it on a longer dog-walk than usual. First past some schools, and if nothing happened in the meantime, they'd take the train to get outside of the city. Parks were nice, of course, but nothing against a forest.

When Auriel woke up only a few hours after going to bed, she groaned. The extra money was nice but the getting home late and having to get up again soon after wasn't that much. Not that this detail kept her from her performances, after all she loved singing and earning money for it was great.

It didn't take long for her to get ready, so soon after she left her apartment and headed for work. Arriving at the library she earned a look from Karen who seemed a bit confused. "Aurora, what are you doing here? Don't tell me you forgot again you have a free day today?"
Auriel opened her mouth to say something, then closed it again. Of course she forgot. Again. She just was so used to walking here daily. "Er, no, I actually just came here to go through some books", she replied after a short while of silence, she didn't quite want to admit it and who knew, maybe she found a thing or two that'd be helpful.

Near one of the schools, there was a little more magic than usual. Maybe some relationship drama - humans were quite interesting when it came to that - or maybe several classes having tests that day. Of course, it wasn't comparable to the surge Lucifer's attacks had caused, but Azriel took what she could get.
Luckily, there was a little bit of open space by the school. Just enough to grab a stick and play a bit of fetch with her dogs; not how she usually handled them, but at least that gave her a good excuse to stay nearby for a while, and she still had the whole day to properly spend time with her pack.
While throwing the stick, Azriel looked around a bit. Wasn't this the place where she had met the angel the day before? She was a bit curious whether she'd come by again.

After the tenth book she went through didn't contain any information she found useful, Auriel sighed and got up. She placed all books back where they belonged, before heading for the exit, where she received her daily smile and goodbye from Karen. "Bye Karen. See you tomorrow", the angel replied also smiling, then pushed open the door and left.
After a while she reached the place where she had met the demon, only to find her here yet again. Auriel stopped slightly surprised, before she walked over to the other girl, arms crossed. "You're stalking me, aren't you? Scared I might attack you, now that I know a demon's living near? Or scared I might spy on you?", she said slightly smiling.

Lux had just dropped the stick by Azriel's feet; she picked it up again, but didn't throw it right away. Instead, she looked at Auriel and grinned back. "Sure, I have nothing better to do with my time than hang around here, standing easily visible out in the open, waiting to see whether the tiny angel I've talked to once just might pass here again", she answered. "Damn, and I thought that was a foolproof plan!"
Azriel drew back her arm to throw the stick again, watching her pack race after it. Aya was the quickest, but Lux had more strength and could somewhat easily take the stick away from her if he wanted to; and Sayu, well, she could simply stare down the two bigger dogs if she wanted to.
"Seriously. Do you really think you're that important, little one? Or that threatening?" Azriel picked the stick up again - this time it was Aya who had brought it to her - and looked at the angel, eyebrows raised.

"Only time will tell", the angel simply replied, looking around the place. Wouldn't harm anyone if she remained careful around the demon girl, after all she still didn't seem all too friendly. "Any news on any demons or angels being around?", she then changed the subject, looking back at the demon. Auriel doubted the demon would tell her the truth, but she could ask anyway at least.

"Well, I've managed to run into you twice in about two days, which is pretty interesting considering I haven't seen anything but bunches of damn humans for ages before that", Azriel answered and threw the stick again. "But other than that? Nope."
This time, when Lux tried to grab the stick, it split in two. So much for the game, then. The little pack fought over the broken pieces for a bit, but nothing serious; Azriel barely even looked. She could tell by the sound what kind of fight it was, and there was no need to interrupt a play fight. And now that Azriel had the tiny angel to talk to, she at least wouldn't look too suspicious near the school. "How about you? Any feathery friends come looking for you? Or did you run into another demon, and that's why you're so on edge?"
The dogs had come back to Azriel and sat down near their leader, waiting mostly patiently.

"My feathery friends have better things to do than come looking for me. And no demons around, aside from you that is. Though I've seen the news. Seems like Lucifer is around as well, but you probably already found out too, didn't you?", Auriel replied after being quiet for a while. Speaking of him, this reminded her she wanted to check out that bridge, looking for any traces he might've left behind. Even if that demon girl had run into him, Auriel doubted she would take her to him. Not that he probably would want to see her in the first place. After all he was the one who had just left without saying anything. Not that Auriel really wanted to see him either, but she wanted an explanation. After all the time they spent together, she thought she kind of deserved it.

The Devil is a Part-Timer Empty Re: The Devil is a Part-Timer

Beitrag  Pantherpfote Di 29 Jan 2019, 02:22

"Aw, nobody's missing you back in heaven?", Azriel asked, mocking sympathy in her voice. So she knew about Lucifer. Oh well, at least judging by her words, she didn't know about Maou and Alciel. Or about the fact that Azriel herself had been fighting the fallen angel. For her question, Azriel just shrugged though. "I felt the magic, but I didn't make it in time to figure out what was going on."
She looked over the other girl. "You're not the best strategist though, hm? Telling a demon that you're all alone, and then adding one of her generals is nearby... Who knows what type of evil people might take advantage of such knowledge?" Of course, the angel could've been lying about nobody looking for her, but she didn't really seem the type. Not that it really mattered; Azriel knew fighting her would be too risky. She didn't look like much, but neither did Lucifer, and he had made it to a general. Not to mention that while she lacked magic, she had no idea how it was for her.
And, truth be told, the tiny angel was fun to have around. No need to get rid of her just like that, unless she was ordered to, at least.
